Point of Connection (POC) was started back in 2009 as a 501c3 non-profit organization. It began as an idea…basically we are a group of people who care about other people and desire to see God transform people’s hearts like He transformed ours and in turn be a domino effect of transforming others down the line.
We started operating out of the “Wallowa County Family Youth Center” in January 2010 after remodeling the building and desiring to run the “The Center” for their board that was already in place. Our desire at the time was to involve and invest in families. After running the facility for a year and a half the board members of WCFYC gifted the building, property and assets to POC in June of 2011, debt free.
In the beginning we started with 7 board members of our own and operated with 5+ volunteers most of the time. The facility offered a game room, gathering/eating area, workout equipment, toddler toy room, and a video projection room with couches. The building was frequented by kid’s birthday parties, and mentors with children for their fun time. Over time, the use had declined and the building had not been used by the community as much as we had hoped. We have since struggled with the purpose of this building and property.
Due to the circumstances we decided to take a year to step back and seek God on what was next. It led us to the new things that are coming with Transformational Housing and Crazy Love Coffee. We are continuing to seek God each step of the way as His plans unfold.
We all have something to offer. If you desire to see others have better lives, would you join us? By volunteering, praying, or helping in whatever way possible? Explore our website for more information or contact us today. Thank you for your time!
